Owacjami na stojąco zakończyła się światowa prapremiera musicalu inspirowanego życiem i twórczością Edgara Allana Poe.

Musical napisany przez Erica Woolfsona założyciela legendarnej grupy Allan Parsons Project, wyreżyserowany przez Frank'a Alva Buecheler'a cenionego reżysera i producenta spektakli muzycznych zachwycił premierową publiczność.

Dzięki technologii live streaming po raz pierwszy w historii premiera transmitowana była przez internet. Fani musicalu na całym świecie mogli oglądać przedstawienie, a także to co się działo za kulisami i na widowni. W Bostonie mieście urodzenia Edgar'a Allan'a Poe wielbiciele jego twórczości mogli oglądać premierę na wielkich ekranach ustawionych na ulicy.
Spektakl będzie grany na scenie Opera House Halle, ale producenci już rozpoczęli przygotowania do trasy po największych niemieckich miastach.

Abbey Road Studio Concert Showcase, November 2003, London
An elaborate concert version of the POE musical was staged at Abbey Road Studios in November 2003. It has taken a long time to find the right producer and creative team to bring the vision of the piece to a full blown production for the theatre and we are absolutely delighted that this has co-incided with the 200th anniversary of Edgar Allan Poe's birth.

Wolter übernimmt Titelrolle bei "Edgar Allan Poe"

Lucius Wolter übernimmt die Titelrolle in Eric Woolfsons Musical "Edgar Allan Poe", das am 27. März im Berliner Admiralspalast Premiere feiert. Bekannt wurde Wolter als Marius in der Berliner "Les Misérables"-Produktion. Im Anschluss folgten unter anderem Engagements beim "Phantom der Oper" in Essen, "Rebecca" in Wien und "West Side Story" in Thun. Nach der dreiwöchigen Laufzeit in Berlin zieht das Poe-Musical weiter in die mobile Ausweichstätte des Deutschen Theaters nach München. (kw/ah)
